OPERATION DETAILS

The linear movement of the valve stem is generated by a strong pneumatic actuator which is energized by a solenoid valve. The automatic forced quick-closing function – in less than 1 second – is ensured by a heavy-duty spring. The valve plug is equipped with a special soft sealing element ensuring premium tightness (leakage rate A acc. EN 12266-1).

OPERATION DETAILS

OPERATION DETAILS

The quick-opening valve is piloted by means of the pneumatic actuator either with a separate solenoid control valve, or in parallel by the solenoid valve of the first automatic quick-closing valve within a safety shut-off valve combination (double block and bleed device).Automatic quick-opening is carried out by the installed spring force in less than 1 second and allows relief of the gas volume into the atmosphere. The valve cone with soft sealing element guarantees absolute tightness (leakage rate A in acc. with EN 12266-1).


QUICK-CLOSING VALVE COMBINATION TYPE KVH-KVH

In view of the requirements of the European laws and regulations, KÜHME offers the proven high-performance valves as double shut-off valve unit ready for installation. The quick-closing valves combine the core competencies of KÜHME in valve technology with those of a system supplier for plant installations tailored to the demand.
The second valve can be designed as combined quick-closing control valve with type examination. This renders unnecessary the installation of a separate control valve. The individually adapted control behaviour leads to an optimised burner operation.

OPERATION DETAILS

The motor control valve is actuated by means of an electrical multiturn actuator. Depending on the differential pressures which have to be controlled the control valve can also be equipped with a multistage control feature. Opening and closing times are mainly depending on the positioning speed of the actuator.

OPERATION DETAILS

The single-plate gate valve for open/close service is actuated by a telescope or rigid lever set mounted to the square-cut spindle. It is key-operated from above the street cap.


BUTTERFLY FLAP VALVE

TYPE PKIII/S

Safety quick-closing butterfly flap valves are an integral part of the containment. The butterfly flap valves are used in the ventilation system (HVAC) of the containment in nuclear plants. In case of an emergency, like “LOCA – Lost of cooling accident“ the butterfly flap valve shut-off quick and safe. The butterfly flap valve is also absolutely tight under earthquake conditions. The KÜHME safety quick closing butterfly flap valve is a benchmark for this application.

OPERATION DETAILS

The quick-closing flap is operated by a pneumatic actuator with a solenoid valve. Automatic quick-closing relieves the pressure volume in the pneumatic actuator via the quick-exhaust valve. Closing springs laterally attached to the actuator close the flap. As the result of the lever kinematics the flap blade move in parallel – and thus nearly without any friction – into the sealing seat.


3 WAY COAL DUST DAMPER

TYPE KSK-HLK

Coal dust dampers are used in pipings of coal fired power plants between mills and burners. The purpose of these dampers is to shut-off individually the coal feeding line upstream the burner when the corresponding mill is out of service. The coal dust dampers are of heavy duty design with an optimised flow pattern to prevent deposit formation. In opened position the damper flap is positioned completely out of the dust stream which results in full orifice cross section for less pressure drop.

The damper type KSK-HLK comes with an additional hot-air connection. In closed position of the main damper blade hot air injected ensures automatic cooling and cleaning from remaining dust at the burner port. As a result the burner is protected against illegal high temperatures and the boiler is protected against explosion.

OPERATION DETAILS

When in its closed position, the flap plate is pressed onto the flap seat by the drive shaft and the internal lever, ensuring a dust-tight shut-off. At the same time, the hot-air connection is opened to cool down the burner gun. When the coal dust flap is opened, the flap plate is moved around 90° and unblocks the entire flow cross section. In this position, the flap plate does not interfere with the flow but seals off the hot air supply completely.

GENERAL DESCRIPTION

The KÜHME Burner Station are engineered under consideration of the following aspects: compactness, economical, ergonomically, maintenance and user friendly. The burner station is equipped with safety shut-off valves for the fuels and in case of oil burners, additionally for atomizing – and purging steam. All other equipment e.g. control valve, flowmeter, pressure transmitter, pressure gauges are based on customer’s request. By standard the upstream side in front of each safety shut-off valve furthermore has to be equipped with a manual shut-off device as well as a strainer.

To the group of stations in special design execution belong such valve stations which are used in various and unique applications and processes. OPERATION DETAILS

The hinged compensator is used in coal dust pipes to balance the boiler expansion. The hinged compensator is designed for equalizing of radial deflections. Due to the design of the hinged compensator the speed of the upstream medium becomes accelerated – this minimises deposit formations.
